'''Alex Constantino'''
Alex is a Computational Biology concentrator from Brown. He joined the iGEM team because he believes molecular biology is the closest subject we have to wizardry. He acquired his lab mojo studying plant secondary metabolism under Professor Judith Bender. In his spare time, he enjoys playing with his cats and learning more biology.

'''Ryan Gallagher'''
Ryan is an incoming Master's student in bioengineering at Stanford. He graduated from Columbia University in 2012 with a degree in biomedical engineering. At Columbia, his research focused on applications of microfluidics to tissue engineering and infectious disease diagnostics for global health. At Stanford, he is interested in focusing his studies and research on future translational applications of synthetic biology to medicine. He plans to begin medical school in 2014.

'''Alissa Greenberg'''
Alissa Greenberg graduated from Stanford University with a BA in Human Biology studying human nutrition and a BA in History with a concentration in women in American professionalized medicine. Eager to learn more about the practical applications of synthetic biology in space exploration, Alissa applied to iGEM. Originally from West Linn, Oregon, Alissa enjoys taking trips to Cannon Beach, collecting sand dollars, and, of course, debating about whether Titan, Europa, or Enceladus is most likely to currently harbor living organisms.

'''Trevor! Kalkus'''
Trevor! Kalkus is a rising senior at Stanford University studying Bioengineering. Although many of his projects, including a MP3 hat, a small autonomous car, and an EMG-activated flashlight, are not biology oriented, his interest in synthetic biology took hold during his first lab class where he engineered E. coli to produce a yeast pheromone as a trigger for yeast apoptosis. Originating from Colorado, he loves camping, skiing, animals, saxophone, social dancing, traveling, and turtles. He is also a counselor for Camp Kesem. He eats his apple cores, has made a Halloween leprechaun costume out of duct tape, has caught a hammerhead shark, and spells his name with an exclamation point.

'''Nguyen Le'''
Nguyen is a member of the Brown University class of 2016 and plans on majoring in Biomedical Engineering (or maybe something else that he hasn’t found yet). He loves hiking, running, dancing, singing and hugging. He’s quite a prolific chef as well. If you speak German or Spanish or Vietnamese to him, he will be very happy.

About Us

We are the combined iGEM team of Stanford University and Brown University, working together across three thousand miles and four time zones to develop synthetic biology applications that are relevant to astrobiology. Our team is composed of thirteen undergraduates and recent graduates working under the guidance of post-doctoral students and professors. We are always looking to share our passion for the exciting new field of synthetic biology, so please make sure to contact us with any questions. Thanks for visiting!
