Why Do Human Outreach?

Human outreach stands as an important faction of the project. Near the end of the summer, a synthetic biology summer camp was held for homeschooled, and non-secular private school students. This was done to introduce potential colligates to the vast and varied factions of scientific research, development, and study. By gaining “hands-on” experience in a true laboratory setting the students were able to have an experience that they normally would not be available to them, thus, expanding their own knowledge base and potentially sparking a personal interest in the sciences. The camp was also held in an effort to broaden the impact, and the repute of Wisconsin Lutheran College as an institution with significant scientific standing and opportunity. The project held further association with human outreach while researching the impact of the project on foreign cultures. This is detailed in the background research. This was done in an effort to ensure that the impact of our project would allow cultures to maintain their individuality, values, and traditions.
