Associate Professor in Plant and Industrial Biotechnology
John is an Associate Professor in Plant and Industrial Biotechnology. He joined the University of Exeter in 2003. He is the director of the Exeter Microbial Biofuels Group and leads an innovative research programme into plant cell signalling and bioenergy that employs a multidisciplinary combination of high throughput molecular biology, cellular imaging, biochemistry, bioinfomatics and synthetic biology. Well known for his original lecturing style, John once brought kittens into a lecture to demonstrate 'reaction diffusion' models and they all escaped!
