Human Practice

We have been focusing on the pollution and detection of aromatics in China. To obtain the information of public awareness and current attitudes on Aromatic compounds, we did a survey including questionnaires. To acquire knowledge of policies on aromatics, we visited Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau. Then we made an on-the-spot investigation to a printing factory, whose manufacturing technique involves dyes and intermediates with aromatic pollutants. Afterwards, we tested some water sample from Weiming Lake on campus, furthermore, several rivers in Beijing. Inheriting Peking iGEM's tradition, we guided an iGEM HS team, which will be a participant in next year's jamboree.
On September 7th, we held Model iGEM, which consisted oral and poster presentation. Seven other iGEM teams were invited and we had a face-to-face interaction.
