Adam has just started studying his third year of Bsc Biosciences. His 3rd year project is undertaken as part of Dr John Love's research group revolves around global transcription machinery engineering (gTME) of the gram positive bacteria ''Geobacillus thermodenitrificans'' that is a potential candidate for biodiesel production. The outcome will hopefully be multiple strains of ''G. thermodenitrificans'' that have improved growth on xylose, arabinose and glucose. Such an improvement is an early step in increasing fuel yield. Additionally his project aims to refine gTME protocols which are previously unused by the research group. In his spare time he loves playing squash and badminton, as well as reading adventure novels and playing the bass guitar.
