In our Youtube channel we told our viewers about the development of the project, the results, the collaboration with other teams, we showed them the picture of the day from our Instagram account and some sketches to make our followers feel closer to us. We thought that these iGEM News were the most original and enjoyable way of showing the effort that our team was doing to make our synthetic symbiosis possible. |

We made a video in which we told them about our project and about how important Science is in our lives and the possibilities that Synthetic Biology can offer. |

RRI defends the constant dialogue between science and society. But do scientists really listen to what our society needs? We contacted hundreds of scientists from all over the world and from all branches with one simple question: how do you choose your research topic? For further conclusions and more details, we invite you to have a look at our survey, which is included in our RRI report that can be downloaded. |

Human Practices
Responsible Research and Innovation
Teams usually think of Human Practices as the study of legal, ethical, moral or biosafety issues. However, our team has found a new and interesting point of view: Responsible Research and Innovation. We committed to apply it from the first day of work to the last, so that, we would be able to show everyone the clarity and openness that characterizes what we have done.We have written a report on Responsible Research and Innovation, a dialogue between science and society, and we applied its 6 key pillars in the iGEM competition: engagement, gender equity, science education, open access, ethics and governance.
The survey
Associated to the RRI report we realized an on-line survey to scientists working in different branches. What we pretended with this was to make them think about what moves them to choose their working projects: the budget, their personal interest, the benefits for society…
