Human Practices
Responsible Research and Innovation
Teams usually think of Human Practices as the study of legal, ethical, moral or biosafety issues. However, our team has found a new an interesting point of view: Responsible Research and Innovation. We committed to apply it from the first day of work to the last, so that, we would be able to show everyone the clarity and openness that characterizes what we have done.We have written a report on Responsible Research and Innovation, a dialogue between science and society, and we applied its 6 key pillars in the iGEM competition: engagement, gender equity, science education, open access, ethics and governance.
The survey
Associated to the RRI report we realized an on-line survey to scientists working in different branches. What we pretended with this was to make them think about what moves them to choose their working projects: the budget, their personal interest, the benefits for society…
