Overview
All work was conducted in a biosafety level (BSL) 1 laboratory: this means that the strains we are using (Escherichia coli DH5a and Deinococcus Radiodurans) are non-pathogenic and well-characterized.All members of our team were required to attend biosafety training that was conducted by Dr. Tuohy and Dr. Ziemba.
