QGEM 2013 PRESENTS:
Spreading Synthetic Biology
This year QGEM collaborated with Shad Valley Queen's to create a crash course in the field of synthetic biology for high school students. Over the duration of two days, the students learnt the basics of the technologies and techniques associated with synthetic biology and also worked on starting their own project. A debate concerning the ethics of synthetic biology was also be held, to consider the advantages and issues with the engineering of organisms.

We've also reached out to different sources concerning our project and spread awareness of what we have been up to. The Kingston Whig has been kind enough to write an article about our endeavors.
