When/Why did your interest in bioengineering start?
-I have been interested in how things work since I was little, and the biology part I got to through wanting to work on developing treatments to diseases like malaria and HIV, that stand in the way of society in many places. Plus, nature can do some really awesome things and it's interesting to learn about them.
Does your primary interest lie in engineering or in biology/biotechnology?
-Both
Why did you choose to participate in iGEM?
-It's a pretty good summer job! I read about it before I started my studies and thought it sounded interesting, and then I wanted to learn more about labwork and research. I thought iGEM would be a nice opportunity to try some form of what I am interested in doing later.
