    <div id="RalfBeer" class="teamimage" data-name="Ralf Beer -  Mr. Sarcasm" data-desc="Ralf is a 3rd year bachelor student of Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Heidelberg. After an internship and practical trainings, iGEM is the first big opportunity to get real insights and expertise in the design and realization of scientific projects for him. Since there is almost no time for anything else until the Jamboree is over, he will be grateful to spend more time making music as a percussionist and doing something where fresh air, daylight and beautiful landscapes are involved, afterwards. In the iGEM project he is mainly involved in the domain shuffling wetlab subproject.">

     <div id="TaniaChristiansen" class="teamimage" data-name="Tania Christiansen - Mrs. Design" data-desc="Tania is a 2nd year bachelor student of the Heidelberg’s program of Molecular Biotechnology. She has done a few internships so far but wanted to 'do her thing', which is why she joined the iGEM Team. Afterwards, she is going to spend a few weeks in the US for an internship and then studying in Denmark for one semester. Tania worked on the module shuffling project and put a lot of hours into the design and realization of the team`s website. She would recommed joining an iGEM Team to anyone! Everyone experienced a steep learning curve, not only improving wetlab skills, but also learning how project development works and how to adapt to constantly changing conditions as well as lack of sleep.">

     <div id="KonradHerbst" class="teamimage" data-name="Konrad Herbst - Mr. Coffee" data-desc="Apart from participating in iGEM this summer, Konrad finished his Bachelor thesis in Molecular Biotechnology and is going to continue with his master studies in late autumn. He is not only curious about science and nature but also (computer) technology and engineering. For Konrad a good start in the morning strongly correlates with his first coffee, optimal applied in group with some of the other team members. The rest of the day mainly consists of experiments for the Indigoidine subproject or of computer work.">

     <div  id="NikolaosIgnatis" class="teamimage" data-name="Nikos Ignatiadis - Django Unchained" data-desc="Double majoring in Molecular Biotechnology and Mathematics, Nikos is very interested in interdisciplinary approaches to understanding biology. Previously, he applied this interdisciplinarity by working with constraints-based models of metabolism. Having also had experience with synthetic biology by designing a modular system for in-vivo mutagenesis, he is now very excited to join the iGEM team of Heidelberg. iGEM is a unique opportunity to put everything into practice in an environment promoting open science and collaborative effort. Nikos is also fascinated by the biology of Indigoidine, non-ribosomal peptides, as well as their modularity." >

     <div id="IliaKats" class="teamimage" data-name="Ilia Kats - The Force" data-desc="Ilia has received his Bachelor`s degree in Biosciences at the University of Heidelberg, where he is now studying Systems Biology in his 2nd master semester. As a Linux user, he has contributed to several open source projects, most notably KDE NetworkManager and simpleSTORM, gaining experience in C++ programming and software design. He did several internships in Heidelberg`s labs over the past years, working both in bioinformatics as well as molecular biology. And yes, he is a nerdy geek. So don’t mess with him or your laptop might suddenly refuse to cooperate.">

     <div id="NilsKurzawa" class="teamimage" data-name="Nils Kurzawa - Ilia's Padawan" data-desc="Nils just finished his 4th bachelor semester in Molecular Biotechnology. He is fascinated by the idea of iGEM and Synthetic Biology, as he likes the idea of standardizing biological parts and being able to engineer biological systems. He is pretty excited to support the team in the software project as well as in one of the wet lab projects. He hopes to have a nice summer with all the team members and looks forward to learn a lot more about Synthetic Biology, programming and organizing own projects. Nils is good fun and always makes you smile, whether on purpose or not. Apart from science, Nils is interested in all kinds of sports, photography and making music.">

     <div id="JohannaMeichsner" class="teamimage" data-name="Johanna Meichsner - Ms. Athletic" data-desc="Johanna is currently studying Molecular Biotechnology in the 6th bachelor semester in Heidelberg. During the past three years, she completed different internships (3 in total) in different laboratories all over the world (Berlin and Bogotá). Besides the fascinating theme of Life Science, she is hooked on sports like climbing, running, swimming and many more. She also likes reading various kinds of books and journals and cooking vegetarian food! Hanna is a great lab mate, stubborn enough to make anything work.">

     <div id="SophieRabe" class="teamimage" data-name="Sophie Rabe - Ms. Sunshine" data-desc="Sophie just received her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Heidelberg and is going to continue with the Master’s program in autumn. She has already done several internships and has been working as a student research assistant at the medical faculty of Heidelberg for over a year. She is very happy to improve her laboratory skills when it comes to genetics and the handling of bacteria, as she has only been working in other research areas so far. Furthermore iGEM gives her the opportunity to experience and conquer the challenges of planning such a big project and the organisation of a team. One of her hobbies is making music - especially in a band or one of the weekly iJAM-sessions.">

During iGEM, she not only became a coffee drinker, but also found out how long she actually can survive with a maximum of 6 h of sleep per day. If she is not in the computer cabinet or in the lab, she is at the phone, acquiring money - or trying to. She is really happy to do the fifth semester of her Bachelor's degree, because there will be a lot of internships. She hopes to be able to use the experiences she made during iGEM. ">

     <div id="JoshuaSachs" class="teamimage" data-name="Joshua Sachs - The Firefighter" data-desc="Joshua received recently his Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Heidelberg. At several institutes and companies, he gained practical wet lab know-how and bioinformatics skills. He is very dedicated to the field of synthetic biology and the development of new integrated systems for the design of novel applications. Being in charge of a whole project with all its challenges is a great experience for him, which he would not want to miss. Following iGEM, he is planning to travel to several countries around the globe until proceeding with his studies. ">

     <div id="JuliaSchessner" class="teamimage"data-name="Julia Schessner - The Bee" data-desc="As many other team members, Julia just received her Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biotechnology. She is always optimistic and friendly, which is reflected in her colorful lifestyle. For her, iGEM is the first scientific competition ever and the intensive team work and the high expectations are really motivating. Since her major was bioinformatics and because she felt like skipping bench work for a while, she is involved in the software tools and the homepage design. This means lots of coffee and heavy metal music to keep her brain running. She already learned at lot in this competition by now, which she will be able to apply in her future work - for her personally it was already worth participating. ">

     <div id="FlorianSchmidt" class="teamimage"data-name="Florian Schmidt - The Optimus Prime(r)" data-desc="Flo just started his 5th bachelor semester in Molecular Biotechnology and is enthusiastic to unveil the opportunities of synthetic biology. Although he never drinks coffee, he does not mind working very late in the lab, mainly because he is very impatient. Therefore, Sophie frequently had to discover cyclers filled with PCRs from 4.30 a.m. Florian is part of the Delftibactin project where he worked on cloning-strategies, primer design, amplification and assembly of DelRest and DelH. Furthermore he worked on the recovery of gold from electronic waste and the characterization of Delftibactin. Apart from iGEM and science, he can often be found on the badminton court, loves sports cars, formula 1 and The Simpsons. ">

     <div id="PhilippWalch" class="teamimage"data-name="Philipp Walch - The Exprimator" data-desc="Philipp also just finished his 4th bachelor semester in Molecular Biotechnology. But since this obviously does not occupy him fully (©reative input by Fanny - due to lacking constructiveness when writing about oneself in third person), he also studies Mathematics. As he tasted blood in several internships in genomics and proteomics all over the world (Heidelberg, Potsdam, Stanford and Berkeley), he is very excited to participate in iGEM. Philipp is always cheerful and friendly, no matter how confusing things are in the lab. He's involved in the Tyrocidine project - i.e. shuffling modules - as well as the software projects. Hereby, he learned to use his strengths for a team and to develop parts of a project from the first scratch to the final validation. Outside the lab, he is a huge fan of playing chess, making music - either on the piano or by singing - debating and philosophy. ">

     <div id="FannyGeorgi" class="teamimage"data-name="Fanny Georgi - Mrs. Fancy" data-desc="Fanny is a master student of the Molecular Biotechnology program in Heidelberg, where she also received her Bachelor's degree. Following iGEM, she is going to proceed with her Master’s thesis in Oncolytical Adenoviruses at the German Cancer Research Center. She worked on bioengineering and translational approaches like therapeutical vaccines or immunotoxins in several labs around the world from Texas to Bavaria. Fanny definitely carries the wanderlust gene, so if she is not in the lab, she travels the world and its kitchens. She supported the team in regards of financing and human practice, as well as lab organization and motivation. ">

     <div id="DominikNiopek" class="teamimage"data-name="Dominik Niopek - The Veteran" data-desc="Since he participated in iGEM for the first time as a student in 2008, Dominik has hardly done anything else. He joined the 2009 competition jamboree as volunteer and participated again in 2010 as student member of the iGEM team Heidelberg. After a one-year break during which he had to work on some studies-related formalities, Dominik supervised the Heidelberg iGEM HS Team together with his close friends Katharina, Tim, Lorenz and Oskar (most of them former iGEM participants, too). Since 2013 Dominik is a PhD student in the department of Roland Eils where he is – of course – participating in iGEM again, this time as an advisor of the student iGEM team. So far, each iGEM experience has been an exciting, enriching, fun and absolutely unique and Dominik is very much looking forward to be part of it again this year. ">

     <div id="HannahMeyer" class="teamimage"data-name="Hannah Meyer - Mrs. Pastry" data-desc="Hannah also is an iGEM veteran, having participated as a student member of the Heidelberg iGEM team 2009. As she really appreciated the idea of completely student-driven and designed projects and the creativity which is possible in the scope of the iGEM competition, she is really looking forward to supervise this years team. Hannah studied Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Heidelberg where she just recently finished her M.Sc. with a major in bioinformatics. In October, she is going to pursue her studies in the field of bioinformatics, starting a PhD in Ewan Birney's group at the EBI in Cambridge. Apart from science, she really loves to cook and bake and the team often has to 'suffer' from her eagerness to bring in cakes, cookies or other sweets. ">
