Wednesday then delved into the world of genetics and molecular cloning. Benjamin Tellier explained the Central Dogma of Genetics, and Dr. Werner introduced the idea of molecular cloning. Many of the students were excited by this new knowledge. To follow up lecture, the students isolated plasmids and performed polymerase chain reactions. It was eye opening to perform what they had heard about in lecture in the laboratory.
