Characterization

Flourescence

Oftentimes in genetic cloning, green fluorescent protein (GFP) or monomeric red fluorescent protein (mRFP) is used as a marker for gene expression. In developing our fungal toolkit, we placed GFP and mRFP downstream of numerous promoters to facilitate future genetic work with basidiomycetes. The fungal promoters we used included T7, PtrpC, and A. nidulans PgpdA.
