The Incredible Story of BGU_Israel

About 60 years ago, David Ben-Gurion, Israel's fisrt prime minister, had a vision of developing the Negev desert.</br> <i>"It is in the Negev that the creativity and pioneer vigor of Israel will be tested"</i>

In 1969, his dream became a reality. Ben-Gurion Univeristy (BGU) was established in the Negev desert.

BGU's exelence in engineering, research and science is a fullfilment of Ben-Gurion's vision. </br> As Ben-Gurion has stated:<i>" It is incumbent upon our researchers to focus on new areas of research "</i>

In 2013, the pioneer iGEM BGU is established. </br> Our creative innovation is a scientific breakthrough and will have a great effect on the future of science.

Welcome to Team BGU_Israel’s wiki page

We are a multidisciplinary group of 13 students with the goal of overcoming the obstacles that are stopping synthetic biology products from becoming reality. Have a look at our project , an autonomous, timed self-destruct mechanism for bacteria, aimed to eliminate biosafety concerns upon release to the environment, and our human practices outreach campaign, focused on understanding the source of public opposition and encouraging multi-layer dialogue.
