iGEM 2013 has come to a close and you are now all members of AlumniGEM! You have all created great projects over the iGEM season and many of them deserve to be written up and submitted as peer reviewed research communications. To start this process and help many of you write what may be your first paper, we have organized a special issue of ACS synthetic biology for iGEM projects. Want to add new data to your team's wiki? Team wikis have now been thawed! Remember, if you want to continue working on your project you should have your PI apply for an iGEM lab account. All iGEM labs get the same resources as iGEM teams but they do not "expire." |

ERASynBio is once again offering sponsorship to all of the advancing teams from Europe! Sponsorship coordinators will reach out to all advancing teams from the Europe region. |
ERASynBio promotes the robust development of Synthetic Biology by structuring and coordinating national efforts and investment. ERASynBio's main activities include developing a strategic research agenda / white paper, which supports the emergence of national Synthetic Biology programmes and lays the ground for transnational funding activities via joint calls in the project. ERASynBio stimulates and tackles the interdisciplinary nature and immaturity of the field by offering training and educational possibilities, establishing an interdisciplinary advisory board and inviting observers of other funding organisations. Tight collaboration between academia and industry aiming to fertilize the innovation process is occuring on several levels. To adhere to ethical, legal and societal aspects as well as to technical issues like standardisation and infrastructure development ERASynBio is tracing the ongoing work and research on these framework conditions, integrating them in its strategic documents and activities.

The wiki freeze for teams in Europe will be Friday October 4 at 11:59PM Boston time. Part documentation and judging forms for the Europe teams will be due on Friday as well. |

updated submission system
We've made some changes to the submission system that will give better feedback to users and help the Registry process new submissions. You'll see when your physical shipment has arrived at the Registry, and the status of your samples on an individual basis. Don't forget that part submissions are due at iGEM HQ by your regional deadline. Parts must be BioBrick compatible and in pSB1C3. |

uploading files
As you continue to work on your wiki, be sure to upload all files (images, videos, etc.) to the 2013.igem.org server, rather than the igem.org server. This preserves your files for the future, and helps prevent accidental file overwrites with previous teams. Permitted file types include: png, gif, jpg, jpeg, pdf, ppt, txt, zip, mp3, mp4, webm, mov, m, ogg, gb, xls, tif, tiff, and fcs. |

Medal Requirements for the 2013 Regional Jamborees are now available! Please look over the requirements as they have changed since 2012. There are now four criteria to achieve a silver medal. Good luck teams! |

As you begin to work on your projects, you may find that you need to use parts which weren't included in the 2013 DNA Distribution Kit. Teams are welcome to request additional parts from the Registry, and should check out the Requesting Parts page before doing so.
