Dr Darren Nesbeth
Supervisor and overall co-ordinator of iGEM at UCL. Lecturer in Synthetic Biology at the Department of Biochemical Engineering, who has been responsible for overseeing the iGEM competition at UCL for many years! Loves to eat porridge and watch vintage VHS films when away from iGEM planning.
Prof Muki Haklay
I am a Professor of Geographic Information Science in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering, University College London. I am also the Director of the UCL Extreme Citizen Science group, which is dedicate to allow any community, regardless of their literacy, to use scientific methods and tools to collect, analyse, interpret and use information about their area and activities.
Dr Andrew Martin
Senior Lecturer in Bioinformatics, with particular interests in antibody sequence and structure, effects of mutations on protein structure and function, protein modelling, and software and web development. Dr Martin developed the first automated program for modelling antibodies, which was later commercialised by Oxford Molecular (OML).
Lillian Shapiro
Lillian Shapiro is Student Business Advisor for UCL Advances, providing advice, guidance and encouragement to UCL students who are seeking to start their own businesses. Alongside this role Lillian continues to run her own business acceleration consultancy, AMIBA, which she co-founded in 2001, and advises start up businesses as a Prince’s Trust Business Mentor.
