Human Practice
The Peking 2013 iGEM team have been focusing on the aromatic pollution in China. First, we conducted a questionnaire survey to gather the information of public awareness of aromatic pollution and its detection. Then we made an on-the-spot investigation in a printing factory, whose manufacturing technique involves dyes and intermediates with aromatic pollutants. Afterwards, we carried on a practical analysis by testing the water sample from Weiming Lake on campus. Inheriting the Peking iGEM tradition, we guided an iGEM HS team, which will be a participant in next year's jamboree. On September 7th, we held Model iGEM, which consisted oral and poster presentation. Seven other iGEM teams were invited and we had a face-to-face interaction.
