Wetlab
The wetlab started at the beginning of summer and lasted for three months. Our wet lab work is divided into four parts, namely: fatty acid sensing and cell transfection, promoter construction and characterization, mitochondrial leader sequence (MLS) construction, and the implementation of glyoxylate shunt genes aceA and aceB. During the summer, lab work such as primer design, digestion, and ligation was carried out extensively and useful data was collected. These can be retrieved from the 'Data' page. However, the time allowance is not enough for us to finish all of what we wanted to do. The remainder is listed under 'Future Work'. In addition, protocols used in the lab and issues concerning lab safety are included under this section.
