One of the key non-functional requirements during the design of our prototype were safety aspects of the device. The safety standard for lab equipment is covered by IEC 61010-1 3rd edition and UL 61010-1 2nd edition. This table gives an overview of the hazards we took into consideration and the steps required to prevent accidents.
