Heidelburg: We aided in their development of an NRPS database by submitting metal binding NRPS parts which we had done minor work with.
Stanford-Brown: We collaborated with the Stanford-Brown team on Bacillus subtilis protocols and in trying to design a cooperative vector.
Newcastle: * we organized a meeting to discuss their human practices
- they are creating a bacillus without a cell wall
- we discussed the possible dangers of releasing this to the environment
- it was possible for these cell-wall-less bacteria to exchange DNA (have sex in a way) - we discussed the implications of that
- they were interested in possible analogies between synthetic biology and architecture for some competition so we gave them some ideas on that
